Main Objective:

Support Engineering and Manufacturing by Testing Products and Process, performing verification and validation activities, developing and implementing test fixtures, automated test methodologies and data collection systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Directly responsible to manage all associated laboratory equipment for calibration and preventative maintenance
  2. Analyze test results in relation to specifications and test objectives and develop equipment to simplify the test processes and reduce test time.
  3. Document work instructions, SOP, MAP, MAT, Validation Protocols and Reports
  4. Data Based product Optimization, Data Statistical Analysis and Failure Modes Trending and Tracking
  5. Present test records / results in numerical and graphical form in order to make data driven decisions
  6. Manage tasks related to multiple projects, prioritize and respond to special assigned projects.
  7. Specify and Coordinate test equipment purchases for improving overall team capabilities for verification and validation
  8. Responsible for daily interface with Product Development team, test technicians and support staff. Additional tasks may also include providing guidance and direction to less experienced staff. Perform Failure Analysis to component level, analyze results and document in write reports.
  9. Coordinate test activities with suppliers, defining corrective actions, and revising fixtures to help reduce production scrap
  10. Use principles and theories of science, engineering, and mathematics to solve technical problems.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor of Science Degree in related Engineering field required.

Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.

Knowledge and Skill Preferred / Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Strong knowledge of Fluid dynamics, RF Ablation technology and mechanical resection of tissue

Strong Mechanical aptitude enabling the ability to apply conceptual brainstorming into a functioning representative test fixture for design verification, validation or research projects

Understanding of applicable medical device regulations for electrical safety and EMI/EMC

Demonstrable experience in developing and optimizing Electrical Test Processes

Strong experience in system analysis, testing, troubleshooting to root cause.

Documentation of manufacturing procedures, test protocols, statistical test analysis.

Ability to read and analyze schematics and electrical engineering drawings.

Knowledge of FDA and ISO guidelines for the development of medical devices.

Strong communication skills, accountability to project deliverables including timing and budget requirements. 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Knowledge of electronic test equipment, PC, Logic Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, etc.

Bench top testing and troubleshooting with typical lab equipment.

LabVIEW, Matlab, Microsoft Office, PCs.

Soldering and desoldering skills preferred

Proficient in the use of Automated Test Equipment, Software use such as LabVIEW and Visual Basic, as required to perform test support

Proficient in the use of test equipment including, oscilloscopes, RF test equipment, digital multi-meter,
