Main Objective:

Advocate and support the repair department by managing and improving decontamination,  evaluation, investigation, and repair processes. The Repair Supervisor will determine dispositions of returned devices and will work with the department to oversee and direct repair projects progression.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures effective employee relations and provides employee coaching and development.
  • Makes employment decisions and ensures a harmonious and productive work environment.
  • Provides leadership for quality, productivity, safety, and morale to achive positive results. 
  • Conducts annual performance evaluations and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Works to continuously improve quality and processes and increase employee skills and capabilities via training.
  • Oversees decontamination, evaluation, and investigation of incoming repairs required by complaint procedures and ensures documentation entered in complaint ERP system is timely and meets requirements.
  • Maintains the Repair Trade-out pool in ERP system to ensure adequate inventory of product to allow immediate trade-out on customer calls.
  • Creates and manages department metrics and history reports for management review.  Analyzes data and identifies trends for further review by appropriate departments. 
  • Recommends engineering changes or CAPAs as necessary.
  • Act as liaison between repair department and other departamental personnel to communicate needs and process/productivity changes needed to improve work flow.
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor activities of assigned projects to develop and implement procedures, processes and systems.
  • Convey required project data and information to project team members.
  • Follows business policy and guidelines to make warranty determinations and financial decisions.
  • Responsible for ensuring preventative maintenance is performed on equipment as required.
  • Works primarily unassisted.
  • Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.  Minimum of two years of leadership experience required.  Minimum of three years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment required.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Experience repairing medical devices or similar products preferred.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Knowledge of FDA Quality System Requirements, ISO 13485 Quality System Requirements, ISO 14971 Risk Management Requirements and GMP, Good Manufacturing Practices.  Familiar with Bio-hazardous material handling, storage and disposal.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Various light duty machines and hand tools.  Advance Project Management system skills required, preferably Playbook or MS Project. Advance Microsoft Excel skills and Intermediate Microsoft Word and PowerPoint required. Must have working experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, troubleshoot assembly problems, collect data, analyzing the variables, drawing a conclusion on the best course of action.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions or information contained within engineering prints.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements. 

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply English language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above.  Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively in English to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures in English.
