Main Objective:

Perform general cost accounting duties in regards to ensuring material standards are accurate and timely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate costing inputs and perform cost rolls associated with master data Change Orders
  • Work with various cross functional teams as the costing liason
  • Create and update transfer pricing, domestic and international
  • Create reports to review the impact of cost changes on current inventory levels
  • Analyze work order variances
  • Review work order status and error reports
  • Assist with Sr Cost Accountant’s portion of month-end closing functions
  • Assist with daily / monthly metrics reports for the Ops management group
  • Assist with Sr Cost Accountant’s portion of external audits
  • Assist with special projects as required
  • May require moderate local travel

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar field required.
  • 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment highly preferred.
  • Experience with SAP standard costing functions highly preferred.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel highly preferred.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Strong Accounting Knowledge
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects with daily requirements
  • Good Organizational Skills

Machine, Tools, and/or Software Skills:

Proficiency in Excel/Microsoft Office preferred.

Reasoning Ability:

Has the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Has the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions, in mathematical or diagram form, and to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Mathematical Skills

Has the ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements. 

Language and Communication Skills:

Has the ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above.  Has the ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.  Has the ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
