Main Objective:

The Sr. Business Analyst Master Data Management (MDM) works directly with business departments within Arthrex to promote consistency, quality, accessibility, and security of strategic shared data and information to Product Management, Design Engineering, Supply Chain and Operations organizations. Responsible for gathering information requirements and working with the business to define standards and rules to ensure master data is compliant with defined information, policies, and quality requirements as defined by the data owner. The position liaises with the technical organization to prioritize, determine the timing and cost of specific improvements or projects, also engages in process improvement efforts to optimize the effectiveness of technology investments. This position also works with business in gathering requirements, project management and communication liaison with Business Users..

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Document requirements, define scope and objectives and formulate systems to parallel overall business strategies, analyze business process potentials for streamlining and improvements in efficiencies
  2. Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases and elements; forming project team, establishing project budget
  3. Capable to provide functional training in the following areas and technologies: ERP/SAP with emphasis on Master and Transactional Data, PLM, PDM and Labeling Systems
  4. Coordinate with business users and technical teams the authoring of Unit Aceptance Testing scripts and able to manage execution and defect management. Facilitate SQA abnd CSV cycles
  5. Systematic updating and creation of system documentation, business process documentation, and end user documentation.
  6. Work with the global material master data management team and business owners to define and document the rules for the creation and maintenance of the material master data in the various source/feeding systems, collect the required metadata and perform data monitoring for the levels of data quality to support the use and consumption of the data across the enterprise.
  7. Execute a data management strategy and assist with continuous improvement of data management in both SAP/ERP and QMS systems.
  8. Translate business goals and objectives into strategic business capabilities.  
  9. Engage in efforts to establish scope and business case for new programs and initiatives.
  10. Identify, analyze and report/resolve data issues related to uniqueness, integrity, accuracy, consistency and completeness.
  11. Identify opportunities to innovate and differentiate Arthrex from its competition.
  12. Up to 20% travel required

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering, Computer Science or related field required. Masters degree in Business or Engineering preferred
  • At least 10 years experience within a business function (Engineering/Regulatory, Supply Chain, Quality) with business analysis or business process improvement activity required.
  • Previous involvement in the deployment or optimization of an ERP and PLM systems is required, preferable SAP Enterprise Suite.
  • Previous position in Pharma or Medical Device CFR 820 and ISO 13485 industry is required.
  • Proven success in implementing and integrating master data management, enterprise quality management systems or similar enterprise software systems is strongly preferred. 
  • Experience in implementing Data Quality/ Data Governance program is highly desired.
  • Experience in creating and leading a Master Data Governance/Management strategy and implementation.
  • Experience leading cross functional business and technology teams and data initiatives/implementations. 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • In depth knowledge of several business functions and related software applications with extensive knowledge of SAP MM and Engineering Change Management.
  • SAP Solutions Manager or HP Application Lifecycle Management is preferrred.
  • Experience with process improvement techniques and tools. Lean or Six Sigma preferred.
  • Understanding of the major functions in a global organization.
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work comfortably at all levels within the organization up to the senior management level.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC servers, workstations and laptops. Telecommunication equipment, cell phones and smart phones. Microsoft and Apple environment. Work with standard current computer applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets and data bases. MS Office, SQL server, Active Directory, MS Exchange, ERP and partner software applications.
