Main Objective: Responsible for coaching and training software development teams on Agile methodologies in general and Scrum in particular.  Responsible for facilitating Agile processes and enabling the rapid delivery of high quality and customer-facing software.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Agile methodology leader/champion/expert responsible for encouraging the adoption of Agile processes and practices throughout development team through collaboration, prioritization, team accountability and progress visibility.
  • Evangelizes the Agile development philosophy and keeps the company abreast of team activities.
  • Accelerates and continuously improves the Agile maturity level, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Partners with business sponsors to determine metrics and actively analyzes metrics.
  • Champions continuous improvements in processes and development techniques.
  • Organizes and facilitates Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives and other Scrum-related meetings.
  • Identifies and removes impediments or obstacles that prevent teams from reaching goals.
  • Fosters enhanced communication between the various disciplines (i.e. Development, User Experience, SQA, CSV) and stakeholders.
  • Serves as a liaison between product owners, developers, management and other stakeholders.
  • Acts as a project manager when necessary and manages dependencies between team and third parties.
  • Actively contributes to Agile Marketing initiatives and manages team budget and forecast.
  • Plans, assigns, and directs deliverables. Schedules resources to projects and support activities to ensure effective use of available resources and skill levels.
  • Leads and mentors a team of Analysts and provides employee coaching and development.
  • Provides leadership for quality, productivity, safety, and morale to achieve positive results.
  • Conducts annual performance evaluations and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Occasional travel for training, meetings or trade shows may be required.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Business Administration or related field required.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of six years of experience in project management and three years as an Agile Coach and/or Scrum Master required.  Agile certification in either CSM, CSPO, or CSC required.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Expert level knowledge of software development life cycle and Agile development processes required.
  • Strong understanding of iterative software development, backlog refinement, burn down/burn up metrics, velocity, and task definition required.
  • Knowledge of Agile Marketing, Waterfall, and Water-Scrum-Fall concepts and techniques required.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully run Agile projects of varying size and complexity required.
  • Experience with the development and support of web and mobile applications required.
  • Knowledge of Ruby; Objective-C; AWS; HP QC; ALM; JIRA; computer software validation processes; continuous integration; healthcare industry; HIPAA; and FDA guidelines preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and run effective meetings required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal/leadership skills when interacting with internal/external customers required.
  • Exceptional multitasking and self-management skills in a team environment required.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines with a strong attention to detail required.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:  Experience working with Agile project management software (such as JIRA, Confluence, Rally), QA software and Microsoft Office Suite.
