Main Objective:

The IS Business Relationship Manager leads the team of Information Services (IS) Business Solutions Leaders, Program Managers, Project Managers & Business Analysts responsible for managing the business demand for new projects and platform enhancements.  The role will manage the expectations of Arthrex business leaders and effectively communicate the priorities and capacity of the Information Services technical functions.  The position will also work closely with the PMO and other IS functions to ensure operational excellence and appropriate governance of projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead, mentor and grow the IS Business Relationship team of Business Solutions Leaders, Program Managers, Project Managers & Business Analysts serving as the primary liaison between IT and our business partners.
  2. Build and Sustain Business Relationships. The Business Relationship team should serve as the ‘One Face’ of IS to the individual functional business partners.  The team should serve as IT ambassadors delivering frequent communications and training on new tools and capabilities.
  3. Build strategic alignment outward with our business partners while also taking inward those agendas within internal IT partners. Help the organization see and feel the ‘power’ of the total IS team.
  4. Generate ideas for innovation and breakthrough outcomes. These ideas could come from within the organization, our partners or from industry groups. The individual will need to leverage their relationships and influencing skills to gain support for ideas and to drive them to implementation.
  5. Build strategic alignment with business partners to build a shared strategy for sustaining and growing our business leveraging core capabilities, industry best practices and innovation.
  6. Act as Change Agent with the Business Solutions Leaders, Program Managers, Project Managers & Business Analysts in order to seamlessly deliver change management to the organization as part of project initiatives.
  7. Benchmark current and future processes against best industry practices.
  8. Develop a roadmap of projects and initiatives for enablement of new capabilities.
  9. Lead efforts to establish scope and business case for new programs and initiatives.
  10. Deploy an appropriate methodology for the identification and documentation of business requirements.
  11. Plan and manage user acceptance testing activities.
  12. Accountable for adoption of solutions by sponsoring business departments.
  13. Provide the methodology, standards and tools for efficient and effective program management.
  14. Monitor overall program portfolio and manage business department expectations.
  15. Identify technical functionality that aligns with desired new business capabilities.    
  16. Identify opportunities to innovate and differentiate Arthrex from its competition.
  17. Up to 25% travel required

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or Computer Science or related field required. Masters degree in Business, Computer Science or Engineering strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience combining work within a business function (Mfg., Supply Chain, Distb., Finance, HR or Engineering) with business analysis or business process improvement activity required
  • 5+ years of direct management/supervision experience required
  • Previous involvement in the deployment or optimization of an ERP system a plus
  • Previous experience with, Salesforce Service Cloud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Apttus, and Cornerstone LMS
  • Previous position in Pharma or Medical Device industry a plus
  • Experience working in a projects where multiple functions work in a matrix structure a plus

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Demonstrated history of success leading a business through a significant transformation initiative.
  • In depth knowledge of several business functions and related software applications.  Salesforce, SAP or Oracle preferred.
  • In depth knowledge of Program Management Office functions and practices.  PMP certification preferred.
  • Experience with process improvement techniques and tools. Lean or Six Sigma preferred.
  • Understanding of the major functions in a global organization.
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work comfortably at all levels within the organization up to the senior management level.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC servers, workstations and laptops. Telecommunication equipment, cell phones and smart phones. Microsoft and Apple environment. Work with standard current computer applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets and data bases. MS Office, SQL server, Active Directory, MS Exchange, CRM, ERP and partner software applications.
