Main Objective:

The Project Manager is primarily responsible for managing assigned projects within the scope of the Strategic Development strategy (Mergers and Acquisitions, Program Managers, Healthcare Leadership Strategy and Surgical Outcome Solutions). Secondarily, assist the VP – Strategic Development with the ongoing establishment, maturing process and success of all affected business units.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages business unit projects and programs within the scope Strategic Development.
  • Leads modeling and diligence on M&A opportunities
  • Collaborates with senior leadership team to evaluate target companies, oversee diligence teams and create management presentations.
  • Participates in developing and executing strategies to investigate, consider and implement merger and acquisition opportunities.
  • Provides research and data analysis for potential acquisitions
  • Provides leadership and project management across cross functional teams to ensure timely and effective completion of executive level projects.
  • Functions as key team member and overall project quarterback to ensure diligence is well coordinated and post-closing integration is successful.
  • Prepares summaries and status reports, leads presentations on selected projects and updates.
  • Assists with the management of the integration plan to keep milestones on track and address or escalate issues and risks
  • Plans and executes post-signing and post close integration kick-off meetings
  • Provides oversight of the development of detailed integration/separation plans and milestones

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Masters Degree in Business Administration preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant experience required.
  • Prior experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, Big 4 consulting or related field
  • Health Care industry experience preferred, but not required

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Able to manage projects across multiple locations in multiple states
  • Able to travel up to 40% of the time (depending on deal flow)
  • Documented track record of leading, developing and executing acquisitions
  • Strong working knowledge of M&A valuation, transaction structuring, and deal terms
  • Strong financial, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Organized, efficient and excellent at time and priority management.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PCs and have a command of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word plus any additional communications equipment as needed.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
