This position will be located at the Arthrex manufacturing facility in Sandy Springs, SC.

The successful candidate for this position must have the flexibility to travel to/from the Naples, FL area for initial training as needed by Arthrex.

Main Objective: The Finance Manager will partner with the local plant Operations team to effectively manage and control the manufacturing and distribution functions in the South Carolina location. The Plant Finance Manager will manage all finance functions including general accounting, cost accounting, fixed assets, business analysis, internal controls, forecasting, inventory control and financial reporting.


  • Partner with Shared Services team for SAP month-end closing activities and reviewing monthly transactions
  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting on plant financial performance including inventory, scrap reporting, work order variances and other plant metrics to assist plant management in identifying root causes of variances to budget
  • Responsible for the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls for the new site; establish a monthly cadence for updates and reviews 
  • Oversee and perform various cost accounting functions including full absorption standard costing, setting of labor and overhead rates, and standard costing analytics
  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations and the manufacturing leadership team to achieve financial targets
  • Identify and help implement strategies to improve efficiency and optimize costs
  • Maintain inventory reserve analysis for excess and obsolete inventory
  • Manage Year-end Physical Count and periodic cycle counts
  • Partner with New Product Development, Operations and Sales Planning and Analysis to prepare cost models for prospective products
  • Partner with the engineering groups to ensure BOM and routings are accurate and consistent 
  • Prepare and manage all external Audit reporting requirements

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; preferably in Accounting, Finance or similar field.
  • MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred but not required
  • At least ten (10) years of Finance or Accounting experience AND a minimum of 3 years of Cost Accounting experience in Manufacturing required
  • At least two (2) years of managerial/supervisory experience required

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Knowledge of financial regulations, policies, practices, and principles.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate activities with other departments.
  • Proficient in the use of SAP preferred
  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to interact effectively with employees/management and ability to read situations and apply diplomacy and tact in communications needed to perform duties
  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for getting involved in all aspects of the business
  • Ability to provide insight and creative suggestions when pursuing special projects
  • Proven ability to present forecasts, budgets and other documentation to the management team
  • Proven ability to effect cost improvements through data analysis and partnering with management team

    Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

    Highly skilled in Microsoft Office; PC office equipment, accounting software, and spreadsheet. Use of SAP and Cognos preferred.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements. 

    Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above.  Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.  Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
