Arthrex is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. Our Human Resources Department is actively seeking a Payroll Specialist to join the team in Naples, FL. Working as a Payroll Specialist, you will support the team with delivering timely and accurate processing of domestic payroll, advising supervisors with inquiries for the time and attendance system, and assisting with various internal and external reports. Excellent communications and customer service skills, strong MS office skills and 5 years’ of payroll specialist experience are required for the position. Associate's Degree in Accounting is preferred. Certified Payroll Professional is a plus. This is a great opportunity in a growing SWFL company.

Main Objective:

To handle the complete payroll cycle for domestic payroll.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for payroll inputs into HRIS system.
  • Processes bank imports and interfaces for all companies.
  • Processes bi-weekly and/or semimonthly payrolls.
  • Creates and updates payroll data reports.
  • Assist with third party multistate payroll tax filings and reconciliations-Annual and Quarterly. This includes ownership of all year end W-2 processing.
  • Manages time and attendance system and ensures accuracy on time worked input via timeclock or web portal for calculating and coding. This includes making sure supervisors and managers have completed proper approvals and entered accurate time data/time off overrides for their employees when necessary.
  • Training of Supervisors on Time and Attendance application and FLSA wage and hour regulations
  • Partners with benefits team on entering and tracking FMLA/STD
  • Partner with technical team on HRIS/Payroll tickets
  • Workers compensation wage/hour reporting.
  • Assists with internal management reports
  • Primary contact for all payroll related inquiries.
  • Compile payroll data such as wage garnishments and 401k loan/deferral adjustments

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates Degree in Accounting preferred.
  • 5 years experience payroll required; over 500 employees preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional preferred

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

General knowledge of accounting principles with strong attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and work under deadlines.  Strong math aptitude. Intermediate level Excel skills required. Report writing experience required. High level of confidentiality and discretion is required.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Microsoft Office skills required. SAP experience a plus. Ability to process payroll transactions via a computerized HRIS system.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to problem solve. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements. 

Language Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above.  Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.  Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
