Arthrex, Inc is the world leader in the development, manufacturing and marketing of cutting edge surgical technologies for sports and other orthopedic application. We are currently seeking a Metrologist to join our team at the new manufacturing facility in Sandy Springs, SC.. The Metrologist will write and execute Quality programs on programmable measurement equipment, verify programs with manufacturing and Quality Engineers, manage all CMM programming throughout AMISC and assist with training personnel on programming software that will effectively and profitably meet or exceed the internal and /or external client’s expectations by providing superior quality products and service. Excellent CMM programming and analytical skills, strong mechanical aptitude and 8 years plus experience in manufacturing will be essential for this position. The successful candidate will need to have flexibility to train at our SWFL location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Applies knowledge of the working properties of materials with CMM programming knowledge to
  • design and carry out the operations needed to make machined products that meet precise specifications and drawings.
  • Has basic knowledge on all software programs, but working towards a full working knowledge.
  • May assist with training and fielding questions from the machine operators and Quality and Manufacturing Engineers as needed.
  • Work with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure that all set-ups and programs are accurate.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineers on prototype inspections and fixtures.
  • Identifies and drives cost reduction projects utilizing Lean Manufacturing principle
  • Maintains compliance and executes all internal policies, procedures and all related paperwork under ISO/FDA guidelines

Education and Experience:

8 years experience in a manufacturing setting with basic CMM programming skills and general CAD knowledge.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Good mechanical aptitude. 

Full working knowledge of machining properties of common metals and alloys.

Ability to read blue prints. 

General knowledge of drafting concepts.

General knowledge of Geometric Tolerancing and Dimensioning.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

CMM programming skills.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements. 

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above.  Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.  Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
