Main Objective: The Master Data Governance Domain Lead will provide coordination, facilitation and communication for resources that provide data management of Arthrex’s global material master data on an enterprise-wide basis.  He/she will lead/implement global master data initiatives, policies, procedures, quality and business ownership of data within the designated domain(s), ensuring implementations are approved cross functionally at an enterprise level and will develop a strong understanding of business processes and objectives to help formulate data strategy accordingly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Work with the global material master data governance working group and business owners to define and document the rules for the creation and maintenance of the material master data in the various source/feeding systems, collect the required metadata (intent, ownership, where sourced, where used, etc…), and perform data monitoring for the levels of data quality to support the use and consumption of the data across the enterprise.
  2. Contribute to business processes for managing enterprise wide reference and master data throughout the data lifecycle, including data quality, metadata, and usage.
  3. Analysis and trending of all related data, identification of subsequent actions based on risk and reporting/presenting to management as appropriate and drive applicable corrective and preventative actions as necessary.
  4. Partner with business owners, architects, and developers to define the services needed to deliver and manage master data.
  5. Continuously review Master Data domains to ensure they reflect the best available enterprise-wide data according to domain definition and policies, internal/external standards, regulations and data privacy where applicable.
  6. Interface directly with business and process partners to understand their needs and objectives first-hand.
  7. Develop measurable KPI’s to show success and progression of master data quality.
  8. Provide direction to internal/external team members as it relates to reference data and master data strategy.
  9. Participate in strategic projects and drive solutions that align with the master data strategy.
  10. Collaborate effectively with system stakeholders such as Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Purchasing and Global Information Systems (GIS) to drive continuous improvement of the system and processes, requests for data enhancements, and data initiatives.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree required; preferably in Business Management, Engineering, Computer Science or related Life Science. 
  • Minimum eight years of related experience in a similar regulated manufacturing environment required.
  • Proven success in implementing and integrating master data management, enterprise quality management systems or similar enterprise software systems is strongly preferred. 
  • Experience in implementing Data Quality/ Data Governance program is highly desired.
  • Experience in creating and leading a Master Data Governance/Management strategy and implementation.
  • Experience leading cross functional business and technology teams and data initiatives/implementations. 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact appropriately with all levels of the organization. 
  • High level organizational and project management skills in order to handle multiple concurrent assignments in a timely manner. 
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

  • Proven success with leading multiple simultaneous complicated/high exposure projects/tasks

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Extensive knowledge of SAP MM is a must.  Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Excel, MS Word.  Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements/standards (FDA, ISO 13485) desirable. Knowledge of Vistex, Vertex, SFDC, GTS, InfoSphere and SharePoint helpful.
