Arthrex is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager for the Pilot Production Department will be working to lead the team to develop, implement and improve capable and cost effective manufacturing processes that produce quality products. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will work with a team of Engineers to support Arthrex Manufacturing, Inc. goals. Excellent communications and analytical skills, manufacturing engineering/manufacturing operations experience with a minimum of 3 years supervisory or management experience, good working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and other modern Continuous Improvement tools & techniques and a Bachelors’ degree in Engineering will be essential for this position. This position will be located at our manufacturing site Ave Maria, Southwest Florida.

  • Deploy techniques to “get it right” the first time
  • Base conclusions on analytical methods, rational logic, and critical thinking skills
  • Leverage Project Management tools to establish a plan and deliver reliable, predictable results
  • Seek, identify, mitigate, and control sources of equipment, process, operator, and measurement variation
  • Identify and control through sound engineering methods and techniques process inputs, characteristics, and parameters that significantly influence process outcomes
  • Acquire awareness and knowledge of new and advanced manufacturing technologies
  • Establish a customer focused approach; external and internal customers

Education and Experience:

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or closely-related field.

Minimum 7 years Manufacturing Engineering/Manufacturing Operations experience with a minimum of 3 years supervisory or management experience. 

Medical Device Manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Full working knowledge in Design for Six Sigma, and Lean Six Sigma Manufacturing Techniques.  Demonstrates process improvement skills.  Demonstrates strong computer skills.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Knowledge of all manufacturing machines.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematic and descriptive statistic principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements. 

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above.  Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.  Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
