Arthrex is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. The Logistics Manager will oversee the daily Shipping/Receiving operations and work closely with Planning, Purchasing and Packaging to meet daily schedule requirements. Through coordination with department supervisors, implement effective processes throughout the operations, maintain inventory accuracy, maximize customer service and minimize costs. Excellent analytical and communication skills, experience in warehouse management, manufacturing/packaging and inventory control and a Bachelors’ degree preferably in Logistics or Business Management will be essential for this position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Continuously improve relevant inventory management, shipping schedules, work order accuracy and supply performance measurement reports that indicate actual performance levels with respect to goals.
  • Evaluate and select freight carriers, methods of transport based on cost, service and timely delivery objectives.  Conduct on-going freight analysis for transportation improvements and better efficiencies.
  • Maintain and communicate knowledge of all rules and regulations governing the movement of freight and industry trends and practices.
  • Identifies and implements projects and programs that result in continuous process improvements in capacity utilization, customer service and productivity.
  • Fosters effective communication with other operations through a team approach regarding common processes and goals.
  • Manages both 1st and 2nd shift Supervisors involved in planning/scheduling workflow.
  • Develop and manage department policies, practices and procedures, including employee programs for growth and development and implements training for team members.
  • Perform supervisor annual performance reviews.
  • Minimize non-value added steps in processes and procedures to maximize daily productivity.
  • Provides a clean, safe and organized working environment.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Logistics or Business Management with a background in the medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. 

7 + years management experience in a regulated environment.

Well versed in all FDA, ISO and OSHA compliance issues. 

Thorough knowledge of Manufacturing Operations.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Knowledgeable in warehouse management, manufacturing/packaging and inventory control.

Experienced in SAP or MRP related systems.

Excellent organizational, leadership/decision making and communication skills.

Demonstrates process improvement skills.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Demonstrates strong computer skills.

Licensed in forklift operation.

Knowledgeable in the use of stretch-wrap and temperature controlled equipment. 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements. 

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above.  Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.  Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
