Main Objective:

Infrastructure Project Manager drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects for Global Infrastructure Services (GIS) by identifying customer and operational needs, developing and communicating business plans and priorities, removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance, planning for and obtaining the necessary resources, identifying performance standards, measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly, and developing contingency plans. This role will work with infrastructure customers, management, and the PMO to build and manage a pipeline of GIS Infrastructure projects and enhancements.  This position serves as a liaison between the Infrastructure team with other GIS and business teams that have infrastructure project requirements.  Requires efficient and effective execution of a portfolio of programs and regular delivery of enhancements and smaller infrastructure projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead projects and work with groups within the Infrastructure department with full life cycle management
  2. Research, analyze and establish best project management practices that span all disciplines across GIS infrastructure projects
  3. Generate metrics and provide regular briefings and dashboards to senior management on the performance of the ongoing infrastructure projects
  4. Collaborate with internal and/or external parties to gather requirements and organize components of projects including coordination of schedules and activities, tracking progress, and reporting results
  5. Develop accurate and informed scopes of work including schedules and budgets
  6. Work in conjunction with Infrastructure management / PMO to manage project schedules, budgets, milestones and deliverables to ensure project progress from conception to completion including change management
  7. Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents
  8. Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of projects
  9. Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
  10. Develops GIS staff by mentoring and conducting individual training (for example, project management, risk management, etc.), collaborating with the PMO, and assisting teams in the resolution of technical and business issues.
  11. Holds self and project team accountable for project delivery and developing project reports.
  12. Ensures Infrastructure business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives.
  13. Uses relevant business metrics, analyses, and reports to measure, monitor, communicate, and improve performance
  14. Identifies and applies sound, fact-based criteria in setting priorities and making decisions
  15. Conveys a sense of urgency in ways that motivate others to complete responsibilities and achieve goals, leveraging resources and talent to achieve business goals and objectives while holding others accountable for achieving expected results

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (or related field) is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of IT experience is required, at least 3 dealing with Infrastructure systems
  • Strong experience in a widely used program/project management and change management methodologies (e.g. waterfall, agile) and an ability to be flexible and adapt to new methodologies
  • Experience managing cross-functional project teams and mentoring staff of all levels
  • Experience working on projects with matrixed responsibility structure a plus
  • Experience managing projects through a PMO or participating in a PMO as a work stream lead a plus
  • Experience managing projects which are comprised of global teams is a plus
  • German language a plus

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Ability to build, nurture and maintain relationships with all levels of the organization from GIS staff to senior/executive management.
  • Strong background in Infrastructure technologies is required
  • PMP certification preferred
  • ITIL certification preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher a plus
  • Experience managing virtual team a plus
