Main Objective:

The Global Risk Manager will develop and lead the global enterprise-wide risk management program. This highly-visible role will be responsible for leading all aspects of the enterprise risk management program. Specifically, this position is accountable for designing the global risk assessment protocol, developing risk management tools and reporting dashboards and working with the business to define and implement internal controls. This role is responsible for ensuring that risk is effectively managed through continuous identification, measurement, control and monitoring company activities. The Global Risk Manager reports to the Sr. Compliance Officer, North America and collaborates globally across all functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policies, framework and governance mechanisms for continuous risk management process.
  • Understands business strategy and designs and supports the development of internal controls to manage business risk.
  • Coordinate with other risk-related functions to identify areas for collaboration and to leverage resources.
  • Leads global, regional or functional risk assessment and management activities.
  • Provides strategic input to both North America and Global compliance initiatives.
  • Reports to senior leaders on the output of risk management activities including recommendations to improve business practices.
  • Assists the business in system implementation, best practice sharing and in the development of tools to support responsible business practices.
  • Supports the global investigations program through the management of investigations tools and staff.
  • Leads global investigations.
  • Supports the development of risk management KPIs and data analytics.
  • Develops risk management training and communications.
  • Utilizes influencing skills to help gain buy-in for new or changing compliance program initiatives.
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships across all functions and levels of the organization.
  • Leads other Compliance department projects, as assigned.
  • Up to 25% travel may be required.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree required; other advanced degree or professional license/certification (i.e. CCEP, CPA, CIA, etc.) strongly preferred.

A minimum of 7 years of experience in Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit or Management Consulting required.

Experience within the healthcare/life sciences/biotech industry preferred.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise risk management programs.
  • Strong understanding of global anti-corruption regulations.
  • Global compliance program management.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, analytical, organizational, problem solving and presentational skills.
  • Ability to understand and develop business process and controls.
  • Strategic thinking.
  • Ability to lead and develop people.
  • Significant project management experience and ability to prioritize projects and responsibilities.
  • Adept at understanding complex concepts and situations presented by the business environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic and high-growth environment.
  • Knowledgeable of broad range of business risk and internal control practices.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Intermediate (or better) level of proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
