Main Objective:

Provide technical and clinical support for the training curriculum that addresses the changing needs of Arthrex sales force, in-house personnel and surgeon customers. Assist in the organization and conduct surgeon motor skills labs and training sessions offered by Arthrex.

Resource for the product management, engineering, sales management, web master and regulatory affairs.


Maintains a thorough understanding of the Arthrex Hand, Wrist & Elbow product line: features, benefits, standard and expanded indications, and surgical tips as well as the following:

  • Develops and conducts agency representative trainings on the company’s Hand, Wrist and Elbow products.
  • Carry out the objectives created for Arthrex Sales Representative product training programs.
  • Teaches all aspects of current procedure-specific surgical techniques using Arthrex instruments,
  • Implement for the Sales force a general understanding of Hand, Wrist and Elbow conditions, patho anatomy, and biomechanics as it relates to the utilization of Hand, Wrist & Elbow Arthrex Products in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Assist in the development of an internet based program of sales representative training modules.
  • Participation in Hand, Wrist and Elbow Surgeon Education Training Program
  • Serve as a liaison for organization and implementation of Hand, Wrist and Elbow Surgeon Education Training Program
  • Train, Hand & Wrist and Elbow surgeons in use of Arthrex products.
  • Assist in the Organization and execution of cadaver workshops.
  • Develop marketing pieces and assist in product market initiatives.
  • Writes surgical techniques, instrument system manuals, video scripts, cd rom animations
  • and advertisements.
  • Provide assistance to Research and Development of products.
  • Support of Product Development process via team interaction with the Distal Extremities and Upper Extremity Product Management Teams and engineering staff.
  • Interfaces with Distal Extremities and Upper Extremity product management team and engineering to provide pertinent design criteria regarding form and function of surgical instruments.
  • Writes, produce, direct, and edit cd rom and video productions for the following audiences:
  • Surgical techniques for education of key Hand & Wrist and Elbow surgeons and sales representatives.
  • In-service programs for education of sales reps and OR personnel responsible for operation and care of instrument systems.
  • Sales/Marketing programs for sales and promotional marketing purposes.
  • Provide content for Web site Maintenance
  • Interfaces with customer service to provide technical support for customer base and sales force.
  • Working with cadavers in the lab.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time.

    Education and Experience:

    High School Diploma or equivalent required.

    Bachelor’s degree required preferably in one of the bio-medical sciences or related field required - OR- certification as a Physician Assistant, NP or RN required.

    Show progression over 1-2 years towards an in-depth knowledge of human anatomy and surgical procedures.

    5 years in the orthopedic industry (arthroscopy), or graduation from post-graduate medical education such as medical school is required.

    Experience as an Orthopedic Physician Assistant in Hand & Wrist or Orthopedic Trauma preferred.

    Experience working with cadavers required.

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

    Ability to teach and develop training materials is necessary.

    Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

    PCs and have a command of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word plus any additional communications equipment as needed.
