Main Objective:

Provide technical and clinical support for the training curriculum that addresses the changing needs of Arthrex employees, Arthrex business partner representatives, and healthcare professional customers. Organize and conduct healthcare professional Sonography related motor skills labs and training sessions offered by Arthrex.  Assist as a technical and clinical topic advisor for Arthrex and all departments there-in.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of current and classic concepts in sonography (with a special emphasis on musculoskeletal sonography), the Arthrex product line, and clinical procedures supported by Arthrex products related to sonography; be able to articulate and demonstrate sonography concepts and procedures to Arthrex employees, business partner representatives and healthcare professional customers.
  2. Participate in Arthrex business partner representative medical education programs.
    1. Carry out the objectives created for Arthrex agency representative product and procedure training programs.
    2. Provide input for Arthrex business partner representative medical education courses and sonography skills lab agendas.
    3. Teach the safe and effective use of Arthrex sonography products techniques using Arthrex instruments.
    4. Teach general sonography topics including current and classic concepts of patho-anatomy, biomechanics, and pathology classifications.
    5. Assist in the development of written digital learning materials for the purpose of Arthrex representative education and training.
  3. Participate in healthcare professional medical education and training programs.
    1. Carry out the objectives created for healthcare professional product and procedure training programs.
    2. Provide input for healthcare professional medical education courses and single day lab agendas.
    3. Teach the safe and effective use of Arthrex sonography products techniques using Arthrex instruments.
    4. Teach general sonography topics including current and classic concepts of patho-anatomy, biomechanics, and pathology classifications.
    5. Participate as a liaison with Arthrex business partners and their representatives to assist with organization and implementation of their local medical education and sonography skills lab training programs.
    6. Assist in the organization and execution of cadaver sonography skills workshops.
    7. Participate in medical society meetings and Arthrex product exhibits to serve in the role outlined in item 1 of this section.
  4. Assist with reviewing written and digital material developed by other Arthrex departments to advise on clinical accuracy of these materials.
  5. Assist with research and development of Arthrex products and procedures.
    1. Assist by providing clinical, technical, and sonography skills advice and services to the product and procedure development process via team interaction with the Research and Development, Product Management and Engineering Departments.
    2. Interface with Product Management and Engineering Departments to provide pertinent design criteria regarding form and function of instruments.
  6. Assist the Customer Service Department to provide clinical and technical support for customers service needs. 
  7. Travel up to 30% of the time.
  8. Must be willing to work with cadavers.

    Education and Experience:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent required plus 5 years of relevant work experience in MSK (Musculo Skeletal) Ultrasound required

    OR

    Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in one of the bio-medical sciences or related field plus 3 years of relevant work experience in MSK (Musculo Skeletal) Ultrasound required

  2. ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification preferred.
  3. RMSK/RMSKS (Registered Musculo Skeletal Sonography) subspecialty certification through APCA (Alliance for Physcian certification and advancement) preferred.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  1. Ability to teach and develop training materials is necessary. 
  2. Experience in MSK Ultrasound curriculum development related to Healthcare providers and agency representatives
  3. Superb organizational skills and proven ability to successfully manage multitude of tasks, projects and information simultaneously.
  4. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
  5. Must have excellent judgment, be highly motivated and detail oriented.
  6. Must be able to work independently and also be team-oriented, reliable and dependable.
  7. Must have excellent computer and Internet skills.
  8. Spanish and/or German language skills a plus.

    Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

    PCs and have a command of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word plus any additional communications equipment as needed.

    Physical Demands:

    The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
