We are looking for a candidate to join the international Product Marketing team at a fast paced company that will support on bringing services and solutions to thriving and exiting parts of the world while understanding and adapting global strategies to different cultures that will Help Surgeons Help Their Patients Better around the world. The candidate will interact and collaborate with multiple stakeholders with a wide range of expertise in orthopedics, engineering, marketing, quality, regulatory and more that will contribute to create new services and solutions that will improve patient care.

Main Objective:  The International Product Marketing Manager (IPMM) position is responsible for assisting all aspects of their assigned Imaging and Resection products, such as, but not limited to, Camera Systems, Shaver, Pump, RF consoles, Powered Instruments. The product aspects include, lifecycle, strategy, expert product knowledge and tactical support in the assigned International Region. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Serves as a product and market information/process hub between stakeholders, subsidiaries, sales channels, regional sales management, regional product personnel, product management and other departments at Arthrex Inc.   
  2. Provides User Needs from their assigned geographic Region of responsibility to Imaging and Resection Product Management for new/existing product(s). 
  3. Develops new and strategic market-specific products in conjunction with Marketing, Engineering and Sales Management personnel.
  4. Coordinates with various department functions such as but not limited to:  Engineering, Product Management, International Regional Managers, Regulatory Affairs, Logistics, Marketing Communications, Compliance, Med Ed, and Finance to assure successful and profitable product lifecycle.
  5. Helps identify and support KOL’s in the assigned Region(s) as it relates to strategic product initiatives with Medical Education, Marketing, R & D, Engineering and other departments.
  6. Participates in overall product strategy, research and development requirements, development and manufacturing coordination (as needed) for new and emerging products in the assigned International Region(s)
  7. Adapts and supports international downstream marketing initiatives such as to facilitate collateral materials adapted to the needs of the assigned Region(s).
  8. Provides technical expertise and training to distributors, subsidiaries and other departments in support of product development.
  9. Creates and executes international business and marketing plans.
  10. Manages the product lifecycle for a specified product segment across assigned Region
  11. Coordinates product line introduction and training activities
  12. Provides continuing product surveillance and management of established product line
  13. Participate in upstream MPI process, as needed.
  14. Expands regional and local product expertise through communication with regional product managers through deep dive reports, dynamic bilateral communication, exchange of key data and market intelligence. 
  15. Observes, identifies and shares strategic performance indicators for the product line with internal and external business stakeholders.
  16. Supports the pricing function process with Finance as needed by issuing accurate and quality information needed in a timely manner.
  17. Offers strategic guidance to product directors, regional directors, managers and regulatory affairs in matters of regulatory priorities and strategies. 
  18. Answers and channels requests from customers (internal and external) in a timely manner.   
  19. Offers competitive analysis (potential sales, pricing, gap analysis,), market research and trends where needed.  Compares product line with key competitors.
  20. Attends international meetings/congresses and reports any competitive observations such as new product launches, competitive outcome studies and surgeon presentations.
  21. Helps identify market potential (potential sales, pricing, gap analysis).
  22. Assists in Regulatory Affairs related inquiries, priorities and resolves bottlenecks based in business imperatives.
  23. Identifies third-party partnering opportunities for complimentary products to broaden product line.
  24. May travel up to 30% (coordinated and prioritized between Global/Sr. Director and International Regional Managers)

    Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Medical/Biology degree preferred for Biologics product line (cellular molecular biology, advanced degree (e.g. MS, PhD) preferred
    • Biomedical Engineering degree preferred for Imaging and Resection product line positions
    • Advanced education (e.g. MBA/MS/MA) preferred 
  • 1 year sales and/or Product Management and or/Engineering required; preferably in orthopedics OR a Master’s degree required.
  • International medical device product management knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of surgical techniques in orthopedics and/or arthroscopy preferred.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Proficient in one other language preferred (Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese and/or Portuguese preferred).
  • Skilled in negotiation and collaborating with various functional units to achieve desired business results.  
  • Effective project management skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Adaptability: flexible, open to new ideas and approaches.
  • Excellent listening and problem solving skills, including the ability to identify root cause, customers concerns or objections.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PCs and have a command of MS Office plus any additional communications equipment as needed.
