Main Objective:

The Arthrex RNC will handle clinical duties including direct patient care and oversight of the support staff at AMC and all three locations. Duties include but not limited to providing clinical care consistent with nursing issues, patient triage, scheduling and other various operational components needed to ensure continued clinic operations.  Additionally this role will manage and maintain inventory of medications and supplies, develop and update protocols for administering medications, maintain all compliance and licensing needed for employees and maintain all necessary items required to manage the clinic practice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain nursing duties and supervision of the clinic support staff, including scheduling of the medical support staff.
  2. Administrative functions including staffing of medical assistants, maintaining medications and medical supply inventories as well as maintain smooth clinic operations for the patients
  3. Maintain all appropriate licenses required for the medical practice including but not limited: medical license for the staff, CLIA waived license, Occupational/OSHA certifications, Malpractice policies, CME tracking for the staff and any and all other pertinent licensures and certifications needed for ongoing compliance and operations.
  4. Ensure the continued support and training of the clinical support staff including routine safety drills for emergency procedures, quality assurance reviews
  5. Preparing patients for their medical visits and prioritize medical acuity when applicable
  6. Perform competency in procedures such as venipunctures, specimen collections, ACP injection program, Spirometry certification, intravenous injections and help to develop the work medical monitoring programs that are currently in development.
  7. ACLS/ BLS and CPR certifications maintained.
  8. Operating office medical equipment including EKG, Spirometry, Lab testing.
  9. Maintain routine service records for the medical equipment and document service dates as recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
  10. Obtaining and processing labs and other specimens as directed by the clinicians.
  11. Administering medication both IV/ IM and oral as directed by the clinicians.
  12. Performing basic laboratory procedures.
  13. Ability and expectation to assume the role of medical support when needed.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelors degree preferred
  • Certification as Registered Nurse required
  • Minimum of 5 years active nursing required
  • Occupation Health Certification preferred

     Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:    

  • Strong skills with Microsoft and other pertinent software programs utilized by AMC, including any EHR and wellness portals.
  • ACLS/BLS/CPR
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language fluently
  • Spanish speaking preferred
  • Knowledge on HIPPA and HITECH policies
  • Experienced with EMR systems
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with staff which includes: effective communication, getting along with coworkers and management and dealing efficiently and professionally under pressure
  • Understanding of Occupational health including knowledge in workers compensation, vaccinations and exposure protocols to bodily fluids and environmental chemical exposures.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PCs, Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook, plus any additional communications equipment as needed.
