Main Objective:

To lead, manage, and provide direction to the Manufacturing Engineering department supporting new product introduction, current product evolution, and ongoing process effectiveness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Manufacturing Engineers, Industrial Engineers, Electrical / Mechanical Engineers over multiple product lines to improve:  product yields, process efficiencies and test methods.
  • Assist in the different phases of design review assuring good product designs for manufacturability and test methodology.
  • Effectively liaison with Design Engineering, Product management, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to produce desired results.
  • Align Test and Manufacturing Engineering human capital and financial resources to support business objectives.
  • Responsible for recommending annual budget submission and ROI for Manufacturing Capital Equipment.
  • Drive business improvements on new product speed to market, increased throughput, scrap reduction, overall COG’s reduction, and enhanced safety.
  • Responsible for evaluating and recommending new technologies to support current and new and existing product lines.
  • Develop Manufacturing Data Metrics and implement data collection and reporting systems that integrate with SAP and Agile.
  • Ensure new products are supported through internal or external resources.
  • Ensure information and Quality Manufacturing documentation is consistently accurate.
  • Up to 20% travel.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing  or Electrical Engineering required.

Minimum of 10 years manufacturing work experience in a medical device or other highly regulated industry required.

Minimum 5 years supervisory experience required.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Excellent organizational, leadership/decision making, and communication skills.

Proficiency in FDA, ISO, and OSHA compliance.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

ERP systems, PC, Microsoft Office, Good Project management skills and knowledge of manufacturing technologies and advanced testing methodologies.
